The details

This five-day high-mountain journey on the Via Dinarica featuring Gjeravica Peak—Kosovo’s highest point. It takes hikers along the Via Dinarica, the transnational hiking trail linking Slovenia and Albania through the famed Accursed Mountains. The trip was designed by Butterfly Outdoor Adventure guides who were instrumental in designing and developing the Via Dinarica hiking trails in Kosovo.

We can adapt this itinerary around your interest, experience, schedule, and budget. It can be scheduled to depart any day between mid-May and mid-September and can be combined with other adventures in the Balkans.

The Via Dinarica 5-Day trip is ideal for strong, experienced hikers who want a focused adventure featuring Gjeravice Peak (2,656m) and treks through unforgettable landscapes. The hike to the summit is not technical, but it is challenging with around 1,500m in elevation gain. Hikers should be comfortable navigating trails and reading maps. The hike is rated as moderate with distances between 12 and 18 km, with each taking between 4 and 6 hours a day (not including breaks).

Stage: Kuquishte – Milishec,
Activity: Hike 12 km hike (+1.200/-900m),
Transfer: Transfer from Peja to trailhead,
Accommodation/Meals: Lunch, dinner and accommodation.

Stage: Milishec – Gacaferi,
Activity: Hike 18 km (+800m/-800m),
Transfer: On your own,
Accommodation/Meals: All included.

Stage: Gacaferi – Gjeravice Peak – Prishtina,
Activity: Hike 15 km (+1,200/-1200),
Transfer: Transfer from trailhead to Prishtina,
Accommodation/Meals: Breakfast and lunch included. Hotel and dinner on your own.
