More Info

This more than just a hiking trip. Being at the top of Kosovo and surrounded by the amazing view that only Gjeravica Peak can provide it may also feel like a dream but trust us, it’s real. Gjeravica is one of the most beautiful mountains to climb; it is between rocks and green all the time. This trail will take you the ancient trade route that once connected Albania to Istanbul. At the top of Gjeravica you can gaze over Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo all at once.

Hiking to Gjeravica Lake

On our first day, we meet in Prishtina at 06:00 AM in the morning and drive to Junik with the minibus. From Junik we drive 1 hour with 4×4 cars to the village of Junik to begin our hike into the Dinaric Alps and to the glacial lake beneath Gjeravica Peak, the highest point in Kosovo at 2,656 meters. After arrival at the lake (4 hours hiking) we will set up with tents, sleeping bags, and yoga mats, and after this, we will do some swimming at the lake.

At sunset, we will practice an hour of yoga as salmon and orange colors overtake the sky, and peace overtakes our guests.

Reaching the summit of Gjeravica

On the morning of our second day, our hike starts from the lake to the summit. The path we will take, which is also part of the new trans-Balkan Via Dinarica Trail (from Slovenia to Macedonia). When we reach the top of the majestic summit we will be able to look over Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo. At the mountain top, we will take time for a yoga session along with taking pictures and eating snacks.
We will descend and hike back to Junik, where we can eat will enjoy a traditional lunch of flija (savory pastry filled with cream) if we all decide to do this, and then transfer back to Prishtina.
