City of Roses

This tour gets us away from the dirty Pristina air for the weekend to the cleanest village in all of Albania: Permet. This relaxing village dates back to the 15th century Ottoman Empire and is known for its many thermal hot springs. Many people flock to this “city of roses” to soak in the springs and cure their aches and pains, as the waters are known to provide medicinal healing benefits.

More Info

Perhaps even more popular than the clean air and thermal springs, Permet is also known for its traditional gastronomy. The food here is very unique and only found in this part of the world, and draws many visitors every year.

This tour has us practicing yoga, hiking, and food. We’ll eat delicious food and hike through the nearby Langarica canyon banks, and swim in thermal water.

Durres - Permet

The first stop will be in Durres, for a short break for a coffee or food. We keep driving towards Permet, where we will check into our accommodation and have our first Yoga session. After stretching and warming up our muscles, we will go on a three-hour hike, which will be nice, easy, and mostly flat. We will walk toward the Deshenica river and we will visit an old village which was built during the communist time and now has been transformed into a lake with wild birds. We will have a short break here and then we will go back for food.

Yoga session, thermal hot spring

We will have another yoga session and eat a delicious breakfast. Then we will visit a thermal hot spring. We will eat a light lunch before returning back to Pristina.
