Gjeravica (2656m) is the highest peak of the Kosovo mountains. Many large and small glacial lakes can be found near the summit. The largest of the lakes is Gjeravica Lake, where you can easily swim in it. The lake is just under the summit and is the origin of the Erenik river.
This more than just a hiking trip. Being at the top of Kosovo and surrounded by the amazing view that only Gjeravica Peak can provide it may also feel like a dream but trust us, it’s real. Gjeravica is one of the most beautiful mountains to climb; it is between rocks and green all the time. This trail will take you the ancient trade route that once connected Albania to Istanbul. At the top of Gjeravica, you can gaze over Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo all at once.
Itinerary
- We start our trip in Prishtina.
- We drive to Junik and continue on the way to the village of Junik with 4×4 transport.
- After one hour drive, we stop and get prepared for hiking.
- After we finish hiking, we stop for a kebap in Prizren.
