A day of hiking, learning and nature brought together young people from Gjakova, Suhareka and Deçan on the trail to Shutman Lake, in the Sharr Mountains.
Butterfly Outdoor Adventure, together with mountaineer and mountain guide Uta Ibrahimi, took part in organizing this hike as part of the activities marking World Tourism Day.
Along the way, participants learned more about mountaineering, navigation and safety in the field. The hike was also an opportunity to get to know nature tourism and to understand how we can enjoy the mountains while taking care of them.
Everyone had the chance to talk with Uta about her experiences, the work of a mountain guide and the role of tourism in Kosovo. Special attention was given to the protection of national parks and to the responsibility each of us has as a visitor: to respect the trails, leave no litter, and look after the plants and animals.
For Butterfly Outdoor Adventure, activities like these are a way to bring young people closer to the mountains and to introduce them to Kosovo’s tourism potential. Getting to know nature through experience helps us value it more and become more careful with it.
