A weekend in a Kulla (Albanian traditional stone houses) enjoying workshops about making vegetarian specialties and the local schnapps called rakija is the best combination for you to learn about Kosovo at its most fundamental level. The trip lasts two days and focuses on the concepts of healthy living, free of artificial ingredients, and community.
We meet in the middle of the day in Prishtina and drive to Junik for two hours. We do a tour around the village, visiting Kulla’s. After that, we start preparation for workshop. We will organize three different tables, where we’ll prepare and enjoy three dishes. There will be seasonal and local products such as spices, organic vegetables, brown rice/quinoa, nuts, fresh bread and cheese and we will end with delicious wild berries. After this, Frutomania will be explain to us the process of ‘How to make Rakija’. In the end, we will try some different taste of rakija.
The second day, after breakfast, we will go for a walk and visiting examples of the authentic kullas in Junik. In addition, we stop in a Sufi Tekke (a Dervish/Sufi lodge and a place of worship), from the order Aliyye Halvetie.
